Abstrak

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tren makanan ringan yang sudah menjadi bagian dari gaya hidup masyarakat khususnya kalangan remaja dan dewasa muda. Porsi makan makanan ringan yang melebihi takaran saji berdampak kurang baik pada asupan kalori tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh elemen desain kemasan dan penerapan kemasan individual pada produk makanan ringan terhadap pola makan remaja dan dewasa muda. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa aktif dari beberapa universitas di Bandung, Indonesia. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membagikan kuesioner pada responden. Kajian akan dilakukan menggunakan perhitungan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial, yaitu perbandingan antara preferensi responden terhadap pilihan sajian kemasan makanan ringan yang dikemas sesuai takaran saji dan dikemas dalam takaran yang lebih besar. Remaja dan dewasa muda memilih jajanan dengan kemasan yang lebih besar daripada yang lebih kecil, baik yang asin maupun yang manis. Ukuran kemasan yang lebih besar mendominasi keputusan pembelian. Mereka akan mengonsumsi lebih banyak porsi makanan ringan jika mengonsumsinya dalam kemasan besar. Konsumen lebih menyukai kemasan berukuran besar, yang lebih ekonomis karena kemasan kecil tidak memiliki nilai tambah yang terlihat. Kemasan individu hanya efektif saat dibawa atau saat ingin makan sedikit, dan membuang kemasan untuk yang ingin diet. Elemen desain dalam kemasan jajanan tidak mempengaruhi konsumsi jajanan anak muda.
